I went to the garden center yesterday, just to look. Heh. There were some dahlias there that really caught my eye – black leaves, and bright yellow flowers. So interesting and so pretty! I had to get some.

On my way home, I stopped at Hobby Lobby for some black velvet. I needed it for a project I’m working on at home. I haven’t bought much fabric-by-the-yard, so I was a little nervous, but the fabric-cutting lady was nice. I probably only needed half a yard. Do they sell it by half-yards?

For our next trip to get fabric:
When Thurman and I owned our shop back in the ’90s, we sold fabric by the inch – not a common practice, though. Yes, fabric stores should sell pieces as small as 1/4 yard if need be. Enjoy all your new purchases!
Well, this is a tiny cliffhanger. What’s the fabric FOR? How long will we have to wait??
I’m curious how black leaves happen from a biology standpoint. Too MUCH chlorophyll??
