I got some new teacher shoes. I have really liked Dr. Martens shoes, and continue to wear some I got, if THIS post is correct, nine years ago, but I haven’t liked Dr. Martens as much since they stopped making them in the UK.
I recently discovered a company called Solovair. They are the UK makers of Dr. Martens! Cool! I ordered some. They’re big and clunky, and have rounded toes. Just what I like!

And the soles of the shoes have a secret:

They’re filled with screws! So edgy! It makes me feel dangerous!
Ha! Harold stepped on a screw when we were cleaning out that storage garage, and I encouraged him to get a tetanus shot. I will not do the same for you. (Could you sneak a screwdriver in those somehow? You’d be so gadgety…..)
What, I wonder, is the purpose of having all those screws already embedded in the soles? If one could unscrew them, would this merely permit one to repair or replace other lost screws elsewhere without trips to hardware stores? ‘Tis a puzzlement – to me, anyway.
