I did some gardening yesterday!
I stopped at Lowe’s on Saturday, and saw they had summer flowering bulbs and different kinds of bare-root plants for sale. One the packages was globe thistle roots. I love globe thistles! And there were six plants for ten dollars! So cheap! I bought a package.
The roots were already sprouting, so I would need to get them in the ground quickly.

I don’t have much dirt to plant things in, so it was going to have to be pots. I decided to put a couple big pots against the far wall of my yard. They’re the two short blue ones on each side below:

I don’t like them there, but this is just for this year, and it’s an experiment. I’m not sure globe thistles will do well here since there isn’t really any winter for them to go dormant in.
That’s a pleasingly symmetrical arrangement, so I’m glad you’re trying it for a year.
I looked up globe thistles – they’re beautiful! Congrats on the good deal!
