I’m still having trouble adjusting to the LA time zone. I keep waking up in the middle of the night, and not being able to go back to sleep. Monday night into Tuesday morning, I woke up at 1am. I tossed and turned a little, then looked at my phone, then laid back in the dark… and then I got up. By then, it was after 3am, and I was hungry.
I wanted a boiled egg, but I didn’t have any, so I started cooking some. But that was taking too long, so I made fried eggs.

After eating, I went to bed, thinking I would sleep. I didn’t. I was awake until dawn. I got up and got dressed because the air conditioner guy was coming. (My house air conditioner had stopped working. It’s better now.)
By then, I was into the day. I didn’t sleep until around 4pm, when I took a nap. I slept heavily, but for only a short while. Ugh. I’m writing this before bed on Tuesday. Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight. If not, I at least have some boiled eggs this time around.
Ahhh…. night cooking. The weirdest kind of cooking. At least you embraced the fact that sleep wasn’t going to come. Think of the other things you could get done!
Seriously, though, I am really sorry that your sleep schedule is messed up. Is there a sleep aid you could take once to just get through a night?
Also, I’m glad about your air conditioner getting back up and running!
You sound like an old woman: up at 1 am and unable to go back to sleep again. Ask me how I know this…
I, too, am glad your A/C is working again. We’re scheduled to have high humidity and heat for the rest of this week (aka just another summer week in Bawlmer, Hon) – praying nobody’s goes down here then.
