I finally split open the geode I got more than eighth months ago. I was digging around in my garage for some tools and found it. I had been taking such a long time to open it, because I was trying to be careful, and split it longways. I had even used a chisel on it for a while.
This time, when I found it, I just took it outside, put it on the cement, and whacked it really hard. It broke width-wise, but it was still pretty. It’s full off… quartz? I guess? It looks like rock candy to me. Mmm… sugar…
Still cool! It’s so crazy how the outside can look so plain.
Doggone it – I was holding out for amethyst inside…or hematite…or ANY color actually.
It is pretty nonetheless. Just remember it is NOT rock candy – don’t try to eat it; that won’t end well.
