When I planted the lantana in my back yard, I put in two different varieties. I thought I was ok with it, but the more I looked at them, the more it bothered me. My back yard is full of a jumble of pots. The backbone plantings need to be uniform. Ack!
I had gotten the original plants at a local nursery chain called Armstrong. I called all the locations that were within an hour’s drive. They were all sold out of “Lucky Sunrise Rose” lantana. Dang it.
I did a little more searching, and found a different garden center called Roger’s Gardens that had the variety on their website. I called to see if they had it in stock, and they did! Woo hoo! I went there yesterday.
It is beyond Costa Mesa – a 45 minute drive from my house.
The place is ginormous. And beautiful. And fancy.
But most importantly, they had lantana “Lucky Sunrise Rose”. I got five plants to replace the “Bandana Cherry” plants in my garden. It’s an expensive correction, but it will give me such peace of mind.
Well, you gotta do what you gotta do. Will you just toss the unwanted plants?
Lauren, I have put the plants in pots in my side yard area. It’s got several potted plants I don’t know what to do with, but I can’t throw away. I should figure something out, that side area is getting crowded.
This seems like a great time for you to start your plant resale business.
