Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how I am so incredibly comfortable. I live like a king!
I have a great place to live: I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t buy anything for my house any more. I think I have everything I need to be comfortable. I can adjust the temperature at will. A couple of times this spring, I ran the air conditioner at night and the heater in the morning. Every night I enjoy sitting on a comfortable couch and watching TV shows I recorded earlier so I can view them whenever I wish. Even the TV treats me royally.
I can eat just about anything I wish: pork loin, crabs, lasagna, Thai food, steak, cereal, and everything in between. It’s all so easily available. I wish it, and I can be eating it in usually less than an hour.
I have a kingly garden: I have exotic plants from all over the world. I walk the garden every day when I come home from school. The plants are living jewels, all there for my personal amusement. Right now, my Sea Holly plants are blooming. The bracts have been open for a while, but they are finally turning blue. Lately, I spend much of my garden time admiring them.

God is good.
Amen.
How wise of you to be aware and grateful of your blessings! We certainly live in an amazing time. Thanks for the reminder to look around and appreciate what is there. 🙂
Don’t forget that you don’t have to empty your own chamber pot. That’s got to be worth something.
Yes! I love my toilets! I picked out both of them from a dizzying array of choices. They are different models and there are things I really like about each of them.
…or spittoon!
And you’re healthy & your feet don’t smell!
(We all need a good kick in the pants of ‘you have it so good’ every once in a while!)
Of course we know that God would still be good even if you lived in an old refrigerator box on the corner, but how refreshing to fill my eyes with the words of such a grateful spirit, and in light of a rather serious conversation we had in your room not too long ago, it seems you might really miss all this if you, oh, say, were… somewhere else…ever…ahem…
I love my house too – even with its cracking foundation, broken window(s), broken faucets for hoses outdoors, leaking faucet for the cold water to the washing machine, newly-discovered gap in the siding under the roof overhang on the east side, old-and-not-so-healthy A/C unit…okay…uh… I love my backyard ?
