Deborah has been working on her house a lot. She moved in about a year ago, and has changed and updated many things. This summer, she has been a home improvement maniac.
One of the things she is working on is a bathroom. She is changing the sink and vanity, but needed a little help with the water supply lines. They were hard-wired into the faucet with no cutoff valves. She needed new valves installed. I have done that before, so I helped her out.
Beth and Deborah and I went to the hardware store to get some stuff, and got to work. Here is the before:
After the sink was gone, I cut the pipes and installed the compression fittings.
And here is a picture with the sink gone and the new cutoff valves installed:
After the sink was out, Beth and Deborah took out the toilet while I played the piano. It made digging wax off of an open sewer pipe more classy.
Ha! ‘More classy’ – that’s hilarious!
I love the ‘before’ pictures! It makes the whole process seem like I’m watching HGTV, which I haven’t seen in years. I am jealous of the whole operation, but am glad that skilled people are helping out. Don’t hang that shelf without me, Deborah! And I’m still on the lookout for a mirror!!
I might have time to get the vanity and faucet today and was wondering about a mirror. Thanks for letting me know, Lauren.
Thanks, Brad, for the beautiful piano music. It helped keep the dry heaves in check as I was digging out the 40 year old toilet wax.
To all of you readers eating breakfast: you’re welcome. 🙂
Thank you. It almost makes me wish I lived closer:)
It’s so disorienting when you’re in NE (not bad, just weird). I always read your blog first (B before L), but this morning, as I was reading I though, I thought, “oh I must have clicked Lauren’s first”…but then Lauren commented first! What the…? Oh right, Brad’s in Seward, too!
Sorry for dragging you into my mental freak out this morning. Carry on.
