Knot Quite Right

We tied neckties in Life Skills class yesterday. One of the kids asked: “What’s a necktie?” Hehe…
He knew what a tie is, he just never heard it called a necktie.

I showed them the Four in Hand and had them demonstrate it to me. Advanced students went on to the Windsor knot. At the end of the class, we watched a VIDEO that showed how to tie an Eldredge knot. I tried it, but didn’t get a very good result. One of the girls at least got a recognizable knot.

She used my blind squirrel tie.

Awww… again, this is a brilliant thing you are doing with them. 🙂

I saw some Facebook post where some people were on a subway and there was a young man trying to tie his tie. An older woman saw him struggling and told her husband to go help. He showed the younger man how to do it, then walked him through it a couple of times to make sure he had the steps. Absolutely fantastic.

You have a BLIND SQUIRREL tie. It just doesn’t get better than that.
