Pulling Wires

Because we went to church on Saturday evening, I did not start the day that way. It was kind of a lazy morning, which was nice, because the rest of the day was a lot of work.

Lauren’s school is constructing a new building for the early childhood program. It’s an amazing and beautiful design. I can’t wait to see it finished. Construction is pretty far along, and it was time to string the wires for the computing needs of the building.

Lloyd is in charge of the pulling of the wires, and yesterday he oversaw a group of volunteers (including me) as we pulled wires through the walls and ceilings. It was hard work, but it was fascinating, and I met some fun people.

There were thirty people who showed up!

We got home at 8:30pm, and boy were we tired! Two-thirds of the wiring is done now. Lloyd and others will probably finish next weekend. I’ll be back in Baltimore by then.

You’ll be back in Baltimore by then – you lucky dog.

Thank you so, so, so much for helping! I am always amazed at the kindness of people who volunteer. This job just wouldn’t have happened without you all. You are a very good friend. 🙂 (And very good at bundling wires to rafters in a neat and tidy way.)

Sure glad to lack opposable thumbs at times like this – nobody asked me for help. Plus, what would I care from computers?! Those silly humans…

I cannot imagine the miles of wire that were put into place. Awesome work, people!
