Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Dry Time

It seems like every winter, my lips suddenly become intolerably dry and I have to use lip balm. The condition lasts for a couple of weeks, then I’m good until the end of the winter. I was going to so say it happens in January every year, but when I looked at old Bradaptation posts, it seems to have varied, including November, December, and January. Interesting. I wonder if it’s somehow tied to the time I switch on my boiler. If it weren’t already past time for me to leave for school, I might investigate.

Anyway, I have my usual Blistex Complete Moisture, which tastes like lemons, but I also have a tube that Lauren gave me. It’s called Remedy, and it tastes orangey. Mmm… Plus, it has no petrolatum. What? How do they even do that?

I used it last night before bed.

That Remedy stuff is fantastic! My mom gave me some a couple of years ago and I’ve ordered several on Amazon. It makes me curse my lip-balm-losing self.

We are dealing with dryness at school, too, and I’ve broken out the lotion bar-making stuff. Gotta hydrate everyone and seal in that moisture. 😉

Medline/Remedy also makes an amazing lotion…both of those products are hospital grade and fantastic. Highly recommend. This is the one I buy:

I think that’s the highest rated product I’ve ever seen on Amazon.

It is amazing. I bought some (from the hospital gift shop where my mom volunteers) for our toddler teachers. Great stuff.

My pharmacist dad introduced me to it a few years ago. When I visited someone in the hospital and saw 7 big jugs of it on one floor, I knew it must be good.

I have “Chap Ice” by my chair and use it nightly……..smells like something from my childhood I think?
