Blue

I am taking a long time to settle in to my apartment. Part of it is the expensiveness of things, part of it is that I’m taking my time getting stuff I really like. I threw away or donated a LOT of stuff that I didn’t really like, but was sitting in my house in Baltimore – mostly in the basement. I am trying not to collect new stuff I don’t like.

My bathroom has old flooring and an old counter top. Both are worn and beige-ish. I thought I wouldn’t get anything with color for the bathroom because I thought it might make the floor and counter look even older and more worn. But then I saw a bathroom rug that was blue and white, which would go with all the white towels I brought. It got me started buying other blue things for the bathroom. I even got candles, for goodness sakes.

But I do like the blue. I like blue in the bathroom.

If I owned this place, I would just paint the walls. And replace the floor, and the vanity, and...

I like the blue. Well done.

That looks very peaceful and spa-like. You went the right direction with the blue.

What they said! Plus, the candles are really classy. (Will you ever actually light them, though? I’ve been known to buy a pretty pillar candle but then never use it because, well, then it would be gone. 🙁 )

I don’t think I’ll ever burn the candles. As you said, I don’t want them to melt away. Also I don’t really like how they smell. It’s some sort of flowery-perfumy smell. I’m hoping they don’t keep smelling for long.

Love the blue! Sometimes you just need one inspiration piece! Keep going! Toilet seat cover….static stickers for your shower doors!! If you paint the walls would you have to paint them back when you leave? I would paint them! Color ON!!
