Fire Leftovers

There was another brush fire on Maui yesterday. It started in the middle of the day. By the time I was leaving school, there was quite a bit of smoke. It was farther upcountry (on the slopes of the volcano) though, so I wasn’t so worried about it getting close to my place this time.

But it was windy yesterday too, so the smoke and ash was blowing everywhere. My condo has so much soot in it right now. Some is still from the first fires. The original fire brought soot, but in the weeks that followed, all the soot on the burned areas blew everywhere. Yuck.

I think I’m going to have to dust. I never dust.

This is the floor near my sliding glass doors. Soot. Ugh.

Zoinks! That is a lot of soot. What an unexpected bother. You expect to clean up your own dirt, but fire dirt? That’s just a betrayal of fire.

Ugh, i hate dust. I’m not a good duster either….i pull weeds! Get the whole product line of swiffer and go fast, you’ll be happy when it’s done…. like exercising. Stupid fires.

How are Gus’s little paws? You might need to wash them!

Well, it is time for him to have a bath… this could be a good reason to do it…
