The air conditioner for my classroom is broken. It’s breaking was kind of an exciting time for the sixth graders. One of them smelled it first – I described it as the smell of hot electronics. Other people were saying it was a chemical smell. Whatever it was, we got out of the room, and I turned off the air conditioner.
The mechanic came the next day. He determined it was a burned out motor. They would have to order a new one, and when it came, install it.
That was a couple of weeks ago. You’d think it would be cool here at the end of October, but it’s not. The mornings are cool, but by the afternoon, it’s warm, and my room is uncomfortable. I’ve been taking my afternoon classes to other rooms so we can stay cool. Of course, that hasn’t been real great for the kids’ focus.
Yesterday, there was a guy on the roof. Woo hoo! I hope that means I’ll have air conditioning again. (I love air conditioning. I would have made a terrible pioneer.)

Yea for A/C-God bless Willis Carrier (not to be confused with William Carrier of the Carolina Hurricanes, but I digress) for inventing it. Praying you are not sticking to your clothing for much longer.
Ugh. It’s worth the loss of focus to be somewhere more comfortable. I pray that today you have a cool room!
