When I was browsing for something to watch last night, I stumbled across the Star Trek First Contact movie from 1996and decided to watch it. It was delightful. I miss the old Star Trek shows. Besides the story, there was always some kind of deeper message. It entertained you and made you think.
Maybe I should watch some more old Star Trek shows and movies…
Whatever else some may say about Gene Roddenberry as a person, he did supervise the writing of those old shows that always taught a lesson about humanity. My personal favorite was one that spoke to our random prejudices, I believe. It starred Frank Gorshin (also a favorite Batman villain) as one from a planet of individuals who were one half white and one half black. He was being pursued across the galaxy because his colors were reversed from everyone else, making him a criminal. That one always made me think.
Continue to enjoy taking those old Star Treks; they always gave me food for thought.
I vaguely remember that movie, and yes, the old one were very good. What a nice way to end the work week!
