I worked in my garden a little yesterday morning. It was fun!
I have a shelf that I’ve been running some experiments on – I’ve left some houseplants outside to see if they’ll survive the winter.

I got an Emerald Forest Plant about a year and a half ago. It got big, and I didn’t know what to do with it, so I took it outside. It really flourished in the summer. When winter came, it stayed green, so that was good. And then suddenly, its longest branches turned brown. D’oh!
But now it has new growth! And the caudex (the root/bulb thing in the soil) looks bigger than it used to. So exciting! The new growth is so fuzzy!

I also cleaned up my old tomato plant. It was almost three years old. I think it died of old age. Here’s the before and after:
