Good Gloves

In our church handbell choir, I’m playing the biggest handbells. They’re pretty heavy, which would be fine, except a lot of the weight comes down on the top of my hand as I hold them.

I only played like that for one rehearsal, and then decided to look for padded gloves. They make them especially for big-bell handbell players! They are surprisingly expensive. But they’re so, so nice.

There are pads on the pressure points. And, for some reason, on the knuckles. Maybe so I can be a hard-punching handbell-themed crime fighter by night?

They’re leather, so they’re very soft. Nice!

I know a professional artist who could make you into a comic book hero: White Gloves – school teacher by day; hard-punching hand bell themed crime fighter by night….when not already engaged in ringing, that is. Let me know when I should tell him to begin drawing…. đŸ˜‰

Ha! You guys crack me up.

Whenever I watch handbell players, I watch the people playing the littlest ones and the biggest. You’ll have lots of people looking at those spiffy gloves! (Smart purchase, by the way.)

I think this calls for a new superhero name.

    The Bell Ringer.

We need to resurrect that list….
