Shifting the Seeds

Almost a year ago, I started putting birdseed outside the back window so that Bruno and I could watch the birds. It has worked well, but since I’ve re-done the planting bed back there, I wanted something nicer.

I searched online for a while, then found something I thought would work. It’s on a spike, so it has a smaller interaction with the ground. And if I left out one of the pipe pieces, it’s just the right height. Here it is:

And here’s the before:

Quite a difference. It’s a little shorter than the old setup, but I think it won’t affect the bird-watching at all.

Oh, my heart – that last picture is ADORABLE! Yes, that is just the perfect height for him! (and you). I hope you have many hours of entertainment with this!

Hope Bruno is a better bird watcher than our late Tabetha was. We’d strategically placed the bird bath right outside the window to “her” room and the perch she used to survey her domain. She couldn’t care less whether it had visitors or not. 🙁 ‘Course, now that the crepe myrtle that had been above it was taken down, once the holly gets a good trimming I hope to relocate that bird bath to under there so the birds can swoop down from the holly to get their drinks and bathe…and I can watch them from the deck or the bedroom window! (“Ulterior motive she had” – Yoda.)
