Doing DC

I’m leaving today for the eighth grade trip to DC and New York. I’m so excited! But preparing for it was difficult. Yesterday I stayed late after school to finish my lesson plans for this coming week. Whew!

One of the plans involves the DVD player, so I had to take a picture to show my co-workers the switch that changed the projector from computer to DVD.

Hopefully the sub plans will go well. There won’t be much I can do about it once I’m thousands of miles away…

I'll probably be sleeping a lot today. I leave pretty early.

I’m a little nervous about flying today. I didn’t buy these tickets, so I don’t know where my seat is. Hopefully I won’t have any panicky feelings…

What an adventure! I still think it’s crazy that trips like that even exist. It’s quite the field trip!

I’m praying that the flights go well and that it is a wonderful experience for all of you. 🙂

Sub plans are SO hard and take a very long time. I’m glad that part is over for you.
I also think it’s crazy that trips like that exist. But many schools do it.

…and I don’t know about our current school, but I can recall making a week of sub plans only to return to “Well, we did thisandsuch instead” – very aggravating, to say the least.

Don’t let that possibility sap the joy from this field trip for your, though. Stay safe and make good memories with these young adolescents.
