Interesting Independence Day

It was a great Fourth of July celebration yesterday, but a little unusual. Tara wasn’t feeling well, so she wasn’t at breakfast. She caught up with us at the square though, so that was good. It was a big crowd, because the weather was nice.

Knitted things were big this year. This was my favorite, but I didn’t buy it. It’s a corn! Ha!

I missed the cloggers. They danced while we were at breakfast, and then again when I was walking the square. D’oh!

The parade-watching was a little weird this year. Lots of the regular cheer crowd was gone. Those of us who were there had a slow start, but we eventually got things going. I caught some candy!

There were stormtroopers!

There was a Chevy Vega that has been in a time capsule for fifty years!

But there were only two Czech queens. So weird!

The food at Brent’s was nice. The breeze kept things comfortable. I made an early evening of it, and headed back to Lloyd and Lauren’s. It felt good to put my feet up.

I am sad to have missed it this year. I’m sorry about Tara and the cloggers and the small cheer group, but I’m glad you were there to keep it going! Candy!!

Maybe next year the highlight will be an exhumed Ford Pinto…?

You’re right- this was a weird one.Yet, you got to be there for most of it and keep up the tradition. Yea for traditions!

Seward made national news! I’m not sure how to attach a link. This is the best I can do. 🙂
