Crown Correction

A week ago, my crown popped off when I took my Invisalign tray out. Yesterday, I went to the dentist to have it looked at.

Fortunately, the tooth under the crown was still in good shape. Unfortunately, I needed a new crown.

The dentist said she could do it right away if I wanted – they had a machine that could 3-D print crowns. I decided to do it. I am trying to do whatever I can to keep my teeth healthy.

When I get dental work, the dentist always has me wear wrap-around sunglasses. It dims the brightness of the work light, and it keeps blood from splattering into my eyes while the dentist works. The glasses they gave me yesterday were DARK. I couldn’t see anything through them. It felt claustrophobic. I got a little panicky. Fortunately, they had some glasses in another room that worked. Whew!

The 3-D-printed crown fit very well – no adjustments necessary.

I asked if I could keep the old crown. The dentist was confused at first, so I had to ask again. She finally got it, and after the procedure, her assistant handed it to me. There’s a cut in it, because the dentist needed an edge to grab it when pulling it off.

Even though it’s not a real tooth, this crown has been in my mouth for years. I’m thinking it could be fun to do something with it.

By the time I was done at the dentist, it was afternoon. I headed home to meet up with my mom, who had been having a relaxing day with Bruno.

We did a little shopping, then had some dinner, and it was time to get ready for bed.

    Whew! It’s done! Thank goodness.

I wonder it you put that under your pillow……

…and wonder if the dentist thought that’s why he wanted it back? 😉
