I have been fascinated with succulents since I got my Euphorbia lactea variegata. I’ve been looking at online stores, but wanted to see some things in real life, so I looked for a local nursery that specializes in succulents. I found one in Whittier, which is about 30 minutes from my house. I went there yesterday.
It was awesome. They had so much stuff.

My favorite display was this combination of plants. It was gorgeous. I didn’t get them, because I know they grow larger than this, and wouldn’t look like this very long:

I also resisted buying a monkey tail cactus. They had a bunch of them, and they were so cool! But I don’t have a spot for one of these right now. Maybe later.

But then I saw that they had some tephrocactus geometricus plants for sale. I couldn’t believe it! I had seen these online and was fascinated. They start as a single ball-shaped plant, then grow other ball-shaped appendages until they are just a pile of balls. Here’s a picture from the internet:

And here’s the one I got. I’m so excited!

Very cool!
Ha! Those are all fascinating – some cool and some a bit scary. (I’m looking at you, Monkey Tail.)
What a fun trip, and now you can go any time!
Those ball cactus remind me of the animated character BB-8. If they start randomly rolling around in the pot, you may have something other than what you thought when you bought ’em. 😉
Who knew there were so many shapes to plants? I find that rather fascinating. Thanks for sharing those, Brad!
