Years ago, before this online memory record, I went to visit the Violet Barn in western New York. I should have write that adventure down somewhere. It was crazy. I was on their website and looking at African violets, and decided to order some. One, called “Rob’s Twinkle Blue”, is tiny and has dark leaves with blue flowers. The other, called “Jus Adeline”, is large and has bright leaves and coral flowers.
They came in the mail yesterday! I’m so excited!

I’m feeling a lot of plant joy this week, because on Tuesday, to reward myself for getting stuff done in my classroom, I went back to the succulent nursery I visited a couple of weeks ago. I got a monkey tail cactus! I it was hard to decide which one to get, but in then end, I got the one I took a picture of on my first visit.
Here’s that first picture:

And here it is in my back yard!

I liked this one, because it has lots of branches. I think it’s actually three cuttings that they rooted in one pot.

Aww.. you’re like the guy who adopts one-eyed/three-legged pets. Thank you for giving that thing a home. 😉
Also, I’ve been up since 4 and when I read your first paragraph, I initially thought that you ordered some plants back in ….2006? and they just now arrived. “How did they find him now?” Then I figured it out.
Rob’s Twinkle Blue doesn’t resemble a typical African violet. I am curious as to how that’s going to grow and mature.
