Cereal Sugar

I used to be a big-time cereal fiend. I ate it all the time. But it has so much sugar, which I really shouldn’t eat so much of. Sometime while I was in Maui, I just stopped eating cereal. It was the weirdest thing. But I wasn’t complaining. It was healthier for me.

In the last year, I’ve started to have cereal in my pantry again, but just one box, and it’s a lower-sugar option. Life cereal has been my most regular brand. I’ve also tried plain Cheerios.

Last time I went to the grocery store, I decided to try Kix. It has the lowest grams of sugar compared to any cereal I’ve tried so far. I like it. I would never have guessed that.

As I was writing this post, I looked at the nutritional information of several cereals, and I’m a little surprised to find that although Kix has quite a bit less sugar than regular sugary cereals, it has the same amount of calories. Interesting. Could it be not as healthy as I think? Maybe I can just use the designation: “less unhealthy”.

Whoops – that’s too many commercials. Just this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD_NHCv11EA

Lauren, I knew this song. I recognize the commercials from the first link too. A blast from the past!

I don’t eat much cereal, but I do like Multigrain Cheerios .

Debbie, I haven’t tried that flavor. I should give it a go.
