While Samith was visiting, he ended up buying a few things. He didn’t have enough room to pack them in his suitcase, so I gave him one to use. For some reason, I have a LOT of suitcases. I think they’re from unplanned packings in the past. I would get an extra from a thrift store, and then when I got back home, I just put it in storage.
As I was checking the pockets of the suitcase I gave to Samith, I found something unexpected: a GIANT firecracker. I don’t know how it got there, and I certainly don’t know how it would have gotten past airport security. Maybe this suitcase was from my cross-country driving journey a couple of years back?
Whatever the case, I did not send the firecracker along with Samith. I also did not just chuck it in the trash. I decided I’d soak it in water for a while before I throw it away.
Good thinking about soaking it before disposing of it. Also glad you didn’t accidentally stick a friend with a potential weapon on his airplane flight. Very thoughtful of you…
