I’m leaving for Nebraska today! I’ll be gone for a little while, so I had to make sure the garden was in good order. I mowed the lawn, and I watered the plants.
As I was moving around in the back yard, I noticed that my monkey tail cactus is blooming. “What?” you say? “Booming?” Yes! Blooming!
When succulents bloom, it could mean they are happy. It could also mean they are dying. Dying succulents sometimes put a last-ditch effort into reproducing, and will bloom and then die. People on the internet call it a “death bloom”. Even though I’ve been worried about the yellowness of my monkey tail, I don’t think it’s dying. I think it might be happy. I hope.
