It was a great Fourth of July in Seward, Nebraska!
After having a pancake breakfast, I went to hear my brother talk about his house. It has a fascinating history, and he’s found a lot of fun pictures to show along with his talk.
Next up were the cloggers. They always dance at the bandshell, and this time, there were shade sails! Awesome!
The courthouse and town square was right next door, so Beth and I went to check out the craft booths.
I usually just look, but this year, someone was selling crochet cat hats. I got one for Bruno. I thought it was an orange wizard hat, but after I got it home I realized it’s a traffic cone. Ha!
I also got a sign that made me laugh. I think it would be a great thing to create teachable moments in my classroom, but it says “OMG” on it, which I would normally fuss at students for writing or saying, so I don’t know if I can put it in my classroom.
After that, I headed over to the civic center building, because Tim was singing in a barbershop quartet. First, we heard some harmonica music, did a singalong, and heard a choir sing. Then it was Tim. He was amazing.
After a little rest, I headed to Brent’s house for the parade. It was a good crowd on the risers this year, even thought Lloyd and Lauren were away at their family reunion. There were three Czech queens:
In the evening, I went to Beth’s house, where we lit some fireworks.

When I got home, I was tired. I’m not sleeping enough at night. Hopefully this coming week I can catch up a little.
