I went into Lincoln last night to visit Samith.
First on our list was Freddy’s. It’s a burger place, but Samith really wanted me to try the fries. They’re cut very thin. They were delicious. So was the burger. Yum!
After that, we drove around Lincoln a little. Samith took me to a place called the Sunken Gardens. I loved it! Gardens are my happy place!
It was indeed sunken. And it was beautiful. So many nice flowers!
I especially liked that they had ponds and fish.
We also had to stop at Costco, because that’s Samith’s happy place. I was glad we went there, because my mom was saying how Lauren introduced her to pre-cooked bacon. My mom had gotten some, but it wasn’t from Costco like Lauren’s, so it wasn’t as good. I got my mom a package of the good stuff:
Yay for time with Samith! Costco is indeed the happiest of places, and you got to go on a non-weekend day, which had to be less congested. Elaine, I know you are reading this, and when you run out of bacon, let me know – I can hook you up.
I’ve lived here for decades and can’t remember ever visiting the Sunken Gardens. Weird.

I am shocked you haven’t been to the Sunken Gardens before! Wow, truly top 3 places for me to visit in Lincoln. It changes all the time and each season they have a new theme. Countless books have been read there, picnic lunches, taken so many pictures…it’s the best for relaxing and recharging. I also love that there are multiple levels…it’s the best!
