It was HOT yesterday. We went up over 100 degrees. I forgot to do a screenshot while I was in Long Beach, but here’s the one from Torrance, where it doesn’t get quite as bad.
We went outside for our morning recess, but stayed inside later, during our lunch/recess time. Fortunately, the air conditioners were working overtime, so the classrooms were cool. Also fortunately, temperatures are supposed to get back to normal over the next few days.
Yikes! We’re back in the 90’s over here but had two really nice low-humidity-and-fall-temperatures days earlier in the week. I think everyone is ready for autumn – enough with the temp roller coasters!

We’ve had some gross heat here, too – mostly in the form of over-100 heat indexes, but not actual over 100 temps. It’s getting better, but I won’t believe we’re cooler until after the second snow of winter.
