Yesterday at church was the staff dedication for our new school year. It was fun to have all of us gathered in front. It’s a big group! After church, our pastor announced that he’s accepting a Call. Please keep him and our congregation in your prayers.
Next, I did some schoolwork. Since this group of kids is new to me, I had the religion classes answer some questions so I could get a feel for where they are. One of my favorite questions is “How do you get to heaven?” I read the answers yesterday. This group of kids had a lot of really good responses.
The most pragmatic answer, and perhaps my favorite, was this one:
Well, they’re not wrong. 😉
I am sorry to hear about your pastor leaving. May God send you a new shepherd that will be just what your congregation needs!
Aw, the middle school mind – pragmatic indeed. Another example of why I always enjoyed working with them – this made me laugh aloud. I found the young adolescent would make me laugh or cry at least once/day – never boring. Now how do you dispute that logic?
Prayers for the relocating pastor and his flock left behind now…
