I have been thinking about getting a new cell phone. I switched to Cingular only three months ago. When I switched I got a phone that was cool looking, but was so quiet I couldn’t hear people — even with the volume turned all the way up. I took it back and got a Razr. They’re all over the commercials, and my students seem to think it’s great that I have one. But I have to say… I don’t know why the heck anyone buys these. The interface is user un-friendly, I can’t customize what I want to customize on the settings, and it doesn’t have a normal jack for the handsfree, requiring me to buy either an expensive adapter or an expensive bluetooth device. Grrrr!
I decided to look on the website of Consumer Reports to see what they had to say about these phones. I didn’t see anything. So I looked to see if they had a discussion area. They do, but nobody has posted anything to the cell phone discussion area. So I did. I am the first poster on ConsumerReports.org to write about cell phone models. It’s a bit of a rant, but I’m mad at the manufacturers for putting poor designs on the market. My last line is: “I like phones that look cool, but if they don’t work, what’s the point?”
You can only read it if you’re a subscriber, so here’s my proof:
My name is at the bottom.
It has been viewed three times now. One of the viewings wasn’t me, so I know at least one person has read it.
This poor post didn’t have any comments, and it looked like a good spot to point you toward this phone.
This post feels a little like spam. I should probably call you or something.
That’s a phone for old people! “Simple ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ action buttons – no confusing icons” It should say: “no confusing icons, Grandpa”
(But I secretly like this.)
“No confusing icons, Brad.” (For when your memory goes.)
