Yesterday after school a bunch of us went down for our principal’s husband’s installation. He was installed as the President and CEO of Lutheran World Relief. It was held in downtown Baltimore. It was a nice service and ceremony. Afterward, there was a reception with fancy appetizer-sized food. It was yummy.
The first part of the event was in a church. The bulletins all had small banners in them. What could they be for?
We walked a few blocks to the next part of the evening: an outdoor ceremony in front of the LWR office.
The outdoor ceremony was nice. Here’s what we did with the small banners:
The reception was fun. There was food and jazz music and air conditioning. Peggy showed her iron will by not eating anything. But the mini chocolate eclair called to her. I “threw myself on the grenade” and ate it so she wouldn’t be tempted.
I’m nice like that.
Cool! I have a friend who sits on the board of LWR, I think. Or has some involvement.
How’s your running regimen going?
Holy cats! Could he stand up with all those banners on his shoulders? And what’s the proper way to remove those? (Probably not a giant dog-like shake, huh?)
Brad, you’re a true Super Hero! Thanks!
Well done, story teller.
I thought your superhero name was “The Gardener” (said in a James Earl Jones voice). Not “Eclairinator”. What gives?
Hmmm…this looks more like an upholstering than an installation; you sure you went to the right thing, Brad?
Seriously, thanks for the pix, as I was at yet another meeting yesterday until too late to go downtown. Now, I feel as if I were there anyway! Can almost taste the eclairs, too. (Say….as I recall, you don’t even LIKE chocolate. You really DID fall on a grenade for Peggy, didn’t you??)
