Last night I brought in some of my frost-sensitive plants. We’ve already had a few nights near 30 degrees. Because I live in the city and because my back yard is sheltered, the plants haven’t been damaged yet. But it won’t be long before we have a hard freeze. Then I’d be sorry if I hadn’t brought them in.
For now, I’ve put them in the dining room and kitchen. I’ll need to find some sunny windows for them before long though. I think I’ll take one to school. The rest will have to pack into the sunniest windows of my house. It ends up making my computer room look like a jungle, but that’s kind of nice in the cold of winter. The biggest problem will be the ant colonies that have taken up residence in the pots and all the spiders living in the leaves. You’d think one would take care of the other, but nope.
Here is my tropical fruit collection: Pineapple plants and a miniature orange tree:
Isn’t that one of the days of christmas–“pineapple plants and a miniature orange tree…” Oh, no, that’s a partridge…
Pineapples and oranges – you could make fruit salad! “fruit salad….yummy yummy…” I just found out that’s a Wiggles song.
What’s in the Godiva bag? I thought you went to Hershey, traitor.
Sleep well little pineapple! Please don’t dry up & shrivel away over the winter!
Mmmm…. dried pineappple….
