Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Fifteen Thousand Miles

My odometer hit 15,000 miles. It looks like it’s been taking about eight months to travel 5,000 miles. This time, I was on my way home from school. I had left fairly quickly after school was out so I could get home. I wanted a little nap. I’ve been so sleepy since going off the study medication. I guess I usually build up a tolerance for the sleepiness or something, but suddenly going off the medicine has been a little harder.

Anway, I didn’t want to cause a traffic jam, so I didn’t pull over. It was hard to get a non-blurry shot of the odometer because the truck was moving.

Still with the 'tire pressure' warning light.

I was on Perring Parkway this time. It’s my regular route home. There are many ways to get from school to my house, but they all seem to take the same amount of time. This route is not the shortest in distance, but it is the highest in speed limits. πŸ™‚

Not many people on the road this time of day.

Taking pictures while driving? Good thing you choose a beautiful parkway to die on. Your tombstone can read, “He wanted a nap. Sleep well, Brad.”

And Lauren’s will read, “She wanted a video of a normal day. Heaven is Lauren’s new normal.”

I was on my way home from church all alone at night when my odometer reached 20,000. I cheered with myself in a quiet little, “Yeahhhh!” All I had was the phone on my camera and I didn’t pull over either. The picture stinks – you can’t see a darn thing. My kids were very disappointed that they missed it.
I just missed “22,222.2” recently – we weren’t paying attention. I was on my way TO church this time and the kids were even with me. Bummer.
Crazy what little thing give us pleasure, huh?

My odometer switches back and forth with the tripometer…and I have NO IDEA what my odometer ever says because it’s always on the tripometer. I used to pay close attention to my gas mileage, and apparently I just never cared to switch it back…

I can’t get excited about my odometer, but I can get excited about naps. I would love a nap right now in fact.

48 mph on Perring Pkwy? I have 2 words for people who drive that speed ……..

I know, I know… you were going to say “Old Lady”, right? I slowed down a little to take the picture.

Never thought I’d see anyone accuse Brad of not driving aggressively enough. I guess you guys have different standards out east.

Peggy – spoken like a true lead foot!

    • Beth

      Step on it! That’s three words… πŸ™‚
