Vacation Day

Today’s post will be delayed because I stayed in a four star hotel in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area last night. I got an incredible Priceline deal! I’ll write all about it when I get home.

UPDATE: I’m home now. The hotel was great! I offered $100 for what Priceline said normally went for $300. I was surprised it was accepted, but it was fine with me! I was in the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront hotel. It was very swanky. In fact, I was a little uncomfortable. I think I might stick with three star hotels from now on. There was also the disturbing lack of a hot tub. Do rich people not like hot tubs?

Anyway, my room was awesome. It was high up in the tower. The photo below is the view from my room. After checking in, I walked around the Inner Harbor some, went to Barnes and Noble, and had dinner. Then I watched TV from my fancy hotel bed and slept. This morning I woke up, watched Pluto Nash on HBO, and took my sweet time getting ready for the noon check out.

It was a very relaxing Vacation Day.

    *sigh*

    That’s great. Just great.

Thanks. Rub it in our faces next time.

What is this? You find a diamond and suddenly you think you’re hot stuff? Good grief.

[How do you think he afforded that room and all the other activities on a Lutheran teacher’s salary, Karla?]

I’m happy for you, Brad – just sad you didn’t invite anyone else to accompany you. (Ahem) Thurman’s been in Hagerstown since Wednesday helping his brother with estate stuff, so it’s just been me, the dog, the cat, and if I have to watch another Judge So-and-so Show on the TV I WILL scream.

Incidentally, my husband loves me SO much, he rented one of those rooms on the 9th floor for us to celebrate NYE one year. We had a great time that evening watching the fire works over the harbor through our room window and drinking champagne, wearing silly hats and blowing noisemakers. The next morning I awoke in the room with my first and most violent positional vertigo episode; went and ruined the whole mood by p*****g my guts up every few minutes. It took me until after 1 p.m. to even get out of the bed and stay standing long enough to make it out of the hotel – Thurman had to drive home, where I again proceeded to….well, you get the idea. Lovely. Simply lovely. He’ll never make THAT investment again, I fear.

But the view the night before WAS excellent!!

You’re right Carol – what was I thinking? I know that, since I’m the wife of a lowly Lutheran school teacher. 😉

    I hate you.

I mean that in the nicest possible way.

I think that’s where Randy and I went for a fancy, shmancy black tie affair with Lockheed Martin years ago. Nice view! 🙂 I wonder what Peggy’s view is like right now 🙁 Do you know what time she landed in Italy?

I’m having a very relaxing vacation day at school working on lesson plans and feeding someone’s shishies! I found more babies by the way – yeah!

I’m happy for you. I’m happy for you. I’m happy for you. I’m happy for you.

(If I say it enough, I’ll believe it.)
