Happy Fourth of July! Yay!
I went to Lincoln again yesterday. This time it was so Tim could get his birthday pictures. It did not go well. The photography place was way behind schedule and didn’t tell us, so we sat and sat and sat. By the time Beth asked what was going on, Tim was starting to get fussy. By the time our turn came up, it was too late. Tim had spilled water on his picture clothes and was freaking out crying. It really was over.
We left without pictures.
We went to Beth’s friend Laurie’s house. She’s just moving in, so it’s mostly empty. It’s a super-cool bungalow from the forties with great garden plantings. Laurie made a good choice in buying it. Tara and Tim had a chance to run around a little and stretch their legs and get some energy out. It was a good thing.
On our way out of town, we stopped at McDonald’s for a snack. Tara got an ice cream cone, but she couldn’t make it all the way through without passing out asleep. I had to slip the cone out of her hand while she slept. I felt a lot like Indiana Jones, except I did not replace the ice cream with a bag of sand.
The day did end well though. Tim opened his presents and a good time was had by all. His new ball pit was a big hit.
All’s well that ends well. Except you still have to go back for the pictures. Rrrrrgh. Don’t you just hate bad service.
Indeed. But I’m going to get something for the trouble. I asked them how they were going to make this better for me – because they screwed up. I’ll let you know how they make it better!
Isn’t the picture awesome? That’s totally a hang-up-at-your-graduation-party picture. Hilarious! And cute! A perfect combination! 😀
Oh and notice the present opening going on in Tim’s background? Tara and cousin Anna made sure all presents were taken care of. Tim could not be bothered, what with the plethora of balls around to enjoy. Silly boy!
I’m pleased to see that Tara has her uncle’s passing out skills. It’s a talent.
Time really had a ball at his party! Ha ha ha ha ha. I kill me.
You stole the thoughts right from my head, Lauren!
…and who needs expensive “professional” birthday snaps when Uncle Brad apparently can do just fine on his own here, eh? I mean really!! Pretty soon he can rent himself out for weddings, bar mitzvahs…
Happy 4th everyone!
What an awesome ball pit! Can you get a picture of Tim in it? And despite the blown photo. shoot—it looks like a fun day anyway! I hope you get your pictures at a huge discount when you go!
“Oh say can you see …”
(um … no, not really)
Heh. Sorry about that Peggy. Brad shared your pic.
Good to see your post today, Peggy – I take it your eye’s a tad swollen yet? Did the doc give a good prognosis though?? You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers…
LUV-lee tootsies, by the way. Of which body part might the next photo be, I have to wonder now? We’ve seen the back of the head, the feet…how about elbows? Knuckles?? Knee caps????
