HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BETH! HOORAY! She still isn’t older than me, so I guess she can’t kill me yet.
“Some day… When I get older… Older than you…
I… am going… to kill… you”
-Beth
Yesterday we tried something new at school. Instead of having a regular school day, we had a “Retreat Day” for community-building and school-spirit-boosting. The juniors and seniors went off campus, and the rest of us stayed.
I think we did a pretty good job with the Middle School activities. It was really fun. My role in the morning was to challenge groups of kids to find my four dress code violations. The easiest was my green hair.
Hair must be of a natural hair color -BLMS Student-Parent Handbook p.22
Next, we had a variety of physical activities and challenges for them. At my station, they had to cram 24 kids into a circle painted on the ground. It was just over a meter in diameter. It was hilarious! No one accomplished it. I kept thinking it was possible and that they were doing it wrong. Now I’m not so sure.
After lunch, we had meetings to plan class service projects, then we had recess.
I like recess.
Whew. I’m glad you dyed it yourself. For a second there I was worried that you had another algae problem.
Happy Birthday, Beth!!!!
Ha! That was my thought too — I assumed he fell in his pond yesterday on his way to school & I didn’t want to say anything …
So, is it still green today?
Because that would be a violation!
Yea…some day…when I get older…
Fun! Was the team built?
We made random groups of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. It was interesting to see them problem-solve. Or not problem-solve, as the case may be.
You got me thinking … Thanks!

Oh and HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!! (BTW: I’m older than Brad, no really I am … hard to believe I know, but I got him by about 6 months … anyway, I’ll kill him if you’d like)
ditto…I, too, am older than Brad…Peggy and I are just waiting for your final orders.
Happy Birthday, hope you like your gift!
Eh-cehlll-ehnt. My plan will soon come to fruition…
Don’t you mean fruitrition?
…and I am old enough to be Brad’s older sister by another mother…or, biologically-speaking, his other mother, too. As some might put it, “jibblie!”
I, too, think the MS Team (teachers) did a WONderful job of organizing and enacting the day for our students. I am proud to be at least part MS again this year.
AND great picture Brad! Love those! And this should be your Christmas card … what with your red forehead & green hair!
