Testing Fate

Ever since I had my early morning flat tire, I’ve been meaning to take the tire into a place to have it fixed or replaced. I put it up on the porch, thinking I’d get to it on a weekend. I haven’t. On Halloween, I didn’t want a spare tire up on the porch. I thought it might look uninviting, so I brought it inside.

The tire is now leaning on the doorway between my entryway and my dining room. Will it sit there for another month before I move it to a new location? I hope not. I never decided my decorating scheme would be Nouveau Garage. At least it makes everything else around it look clean by comparison.

In the meantime, will I get another flat? Then what would I do?

The dark tire really makes the white door frame pop.

It’s starting to look like the landscape of Strong Badia around there. http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Strong_Badia

Maybe an old tire is just what the front porch needed to look warm and inviting. Just saying.

I think Lloyd is from the Ozarks. Just saying.

I say pop that sucker off the rim & make it a tire swing in the living room…you have high ceilings right? Then you could exercise while you watch TV…that’s the in vogue thing to do, right…exercise while you watch?

    • Michele

Silly Peggy – swinging on a tire is hardly exercise!
I DO INDEED like the tire swing idea though – you could wind it up real tight then let it unwind really fast while you sit on it. Then you could throw up – cool!

You could replace it with a festively lit bag of potting soil.

Whew! I re-read what you posted there, Annette…that was close. (First I missed the “-ting soil” part, then I flashed to other flaming bags disgruntled people toss on porches at times, finally settling on the words you actually typed. Imagine that.)

Didn’t the Christensen twins take out their spare tire before a Spring Break trip one year? I think so, and as luck would have it, they had a flat tire in the barren land of Wyoming. They made it back to Nebraska okay, but I don’t know how they got out of that situation. Why don’t you track down Lee or Lynn and ask how that played out?

    • Kim

Are you speaking of Lee or Lynn Donner? I heard that party wasn’t much fun.

      • Deborah

        HA!

          Num, num, num

          Hehehe 🙂
