Angry Stomach

My stomach has been acting weird for a week and a half or so. I still get hungry, but when I eat, my stomach feels full quickly …kind of heavy all the time. And I have some kind of acid reflux happening or something. I have hesitated to go to the doctor because it’s a hassle and because I didn’t want to take medicine. But I finally called yesterday to make an appointment.

In the meantime, I’ve been eating differently. At school I’ve been slowly making my way through a box of graham crackers at lunchtime. At home, it’s been Carnation Instant Breakfast and cereal. It had really calmed my stomach until Sunday. In the morning, my church had a fellowship brunch. I couldn’t not attend. After eating that second breakfast, I went to a restaurant for lunch. Later that day, my stomach felt pretty good, so I stopped at Dunkin Donuts for an afternoon snack. Then I had buttered noodles and egg rolls for dinner.

Yesterday, my stomach felt terrible all day. Sunday’s food was still with me. Ugh. I had graham crackers for lunch and grapes for dinner. I was feeling pretty good about my healthy dinner until I saw THIS site last night.

My stomach feels better this morning. I see the doctor on Thursdsay.

Chock full of sugar! Mmm...

Ha! I went to that site earlier this week – it made me very, very sad. If you are what you eat, apparently you are made of sugar.

I hope the doctor gets it figured out, and I hope they do lots and lots of tests! 🙂 Yay for tests!

Some of my seniors had a soda that they wanted me to try about a week ago. It was a Pepsi made with real sugar. They thought that was the strangest thing.

Instead of high fructose corn syrup? Heh. There’s a lady in our congregation who has become a vigilante against HCS.

Maybe you’re on your way to being a weird food allergy person, Brad.

Or maybe you should stop eating flax. Straight.

The sugars in fruit are much better than just white sugar. Plus you get the nice fiber of the grape skin.

Maybe a parasite has taken up residency in your stomach. Maybe that’s why your stomach feels full, but you’re still hungry. Maybe it’s grown to 15 feet. Maybe it’s trying to crawl up your throat to escape when you try starving it. But then again, stomach parasites usually come from contaminated water…it’s not like you’ve been wading in dirty water or been drinking from a dirty bottle recently, right?

The nationally-known plumbing crew Roto Rooter comes to mind as I read your description of how your digestive tract has been acting…and, sadly, you may experience more of that as you age, sir. Hang in there…
