Actually, they didn’t spell it that way, but there was a Philippine festival in Towson yesterday. I went with Denis and two of his phriends. (Sorry. I’ll stop doing that now.) We got there just in time for the parade to be over, dang it. But I think what this festival was really about was the food. People were lined up for a block to get to the food stand. I had barbeque beef. I asked for chicken, so I was a little disappointed.
After eating lunch, we waited in line for dessert. The quintessential Philippine dessert is halo-halo (it’s pronounced hallow-hallow). It is shaved ice, condensed milk, tons of sugar, and lots of strange and squishy chunks of things. I would have gotten it, but they were offering something else that intrigued me. It was called sago (pronounced sah-go). It looked like bubble tea, which I love, so I ordered it. It was delicious.
If you didn’t know I was going to Las Vegas, sorry for not saying anything. I’ll post about it tomorrow. In the meantime, Kim, here are my flight numbers in case you see them on CNN:

have phun in Las Vegas, …… Brad.
What’s with the writing on that cup? It looks like Sago Maugo – which would be a great alias name in Las Vegas.
Lauren, you need a bad hand writing translator. Let me know when you need one, I can help you out.
“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” unless you’re Brad Royuk. He will post every little detail – right Brad? We want to hear about everything!
What’d you say?
I was trying to be a smart a.. and write just the suggestions below. I forgot it was code.
Try again:
“
Curt, what are you on? And more importantly, why aren’t you sharing?!?! 😉
See below the comment box. “You may use….” That is what I was trying to post. I was trying to be stupid……and I accomplished that.
And, what am I on? I confess, it is milk. I had gone without milk for several days. For me that is really long time, I mean really long time. I had two bowls of cereal this morning and then it happened. I commented.
Oh by the way, I am currently eating homemade ice that I made last night. Mmmmmm.
That didn’t work. So here…

Have a great time ! Here’s hoping you don’t wake up one morning with a tiger in the bathroom, a tooth missing, an infant in the closet & Denis is missing!
And yes, please post lots of pictures…I’m pretty sure I’ll never get there.
Thanks for making it easier to track your fiery crash. Have a great time in the land of make believe.
You mean you chose the Philipine Phestival over Honfest?! [How to tell when someone isn’t originally from around here….] Very disappointing, Brad! But, then, we’d seen signs for the P.P. (No comments on the abbreviations now, gang!) too and were curious – glad you gave it a test taste for us this year; maybe we’ll crash the party next June and try our own unique cold beverages.
Put a few scheckels down on the table s in Sin City for us, will ya’? “7 come 11 – teacher needs a new pair of shoes!”
–she who’s been enjoying rehabbing her classroom today: washing walls, spackling, sanding, painting…who says the life of a Lutheran educator isn’t glamorous?
Good luck with your flight tomorrow, Brad. And more importantly, happy quickie wedding! Let us know where you’re registered – or is it at Plant’s Delight Nursery?
