Yesterday was a walking day. We saw many amazing sites. The hotels out here are incredible. They all have themes and they are all ginormous. Here are a few samples:
The Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas:
The Statue of Liberty at New York New York:
The Sphynx and pyramid at the Luxor:
The most shocking event of the day was a possible sighting of the Japanese Illuminati. At first, this looked like just an ordinary man:
Look at the strange marking on the cuff of his pants. Could it be the same symbol I saw at the restaurant in Baltimore?
I spent the late afternoon at the pool. It was overcast and cool. Perfect weather for lounging and reading a book. …until an extremely rude couple sat down next to me and started blaring music from their iPod. What the?
I finished the evening by watching the pirate show in front of Treasure Island. It was a little disappointing though. Instead of a good guys versus bad guys show, it was pirates versus sirens, who were more than a little slutty. I was worried about all the little kids in the audience.
It would seem that one could log many world traveling miles just by seeing Vegas – France, USA, Egypt, Japan (no, wait, those were just the tourists…) – good for you! Got now a few questions about your snapshots, though:
1. Define “life-sized”. Did you always think the Statue of Liberty on Staten Island was? How tall do you see everyone else, Brad?
2. Boy, those ancient Egyptians – how prescient of them! They just knew there’d be a sequel to a story in an entertainment format that had not yet been invented when they were at the peak of their civilization – amazing!
3. What’s that round thing between your white feet and the actual pool you came to sit beside but can’t really see from there? I’m thinking maybe some sort of fountain – or wooden weeding cake – or…?
4. That’s one thick paperback you brought to the pool with ya’, sir. Unfortunately, I could not make out the title…but I’m gonna go with something in the fantasy genre’, no? Your book report will be due within two weeks of your return, Times New Roman, 12-pt, two pages, double spaced. Thanks in advance.
I’m surprised at how many international tourists there are here. What really surprises me is how many Chinese families there are. I mean families with toddlers and infants. Someone must be doing a good ad campaign about the wonderful family-friendly environment of the Las Vegas strip. I personally don’t see it. Unless gambling, getting drunk, and booby ladies are family friendly.
“Booby ladies” – ha!
Graffiti on the pyramid? Isn’t that a crime?
Maybe that man got stickers for being a good boy at the bank. That happens all the time around here.
Thanks for all the pictures!! LOVE the Sphynx! But where are the tan legs of which you speak? 😉
*snicker snicker*
I have the reverse Brad leg tan. Feet, tan. Legs, scary white.
