Ballroom

I had another productive day yesterday. I have no idea why I had so much energy. Since the aquarium was already gone, I decided to clean out my dining room. And by “clean out”, I mean really clean out. I emptied it. After a coat of OrangeGlo on the floor, I started moving things around. I liked how open the room was, so I decided not to bring the dining table back in. I only use it about once every two years, so I’ve decided to just get a folding banquet table and keep it in the basement. The rest of the year, my dining room will be a big open ballroom. I’ll just have to make sure I’m not alone there with Mrs. Peacock and the revolver.

SOUTH
Isn't the floor shiny?

EAST
Max kept getting in front of the camera. He's such a ham.

NORTH
It's so spacious!

WEST
That is a shoe cabinet from IKEA. It's full of piano music.

It’s wonderful… a blank slate. What other use could it have outside of dancing??

  2. Lauren

I am speechless with how wonderful that is! There is no possible way to improve it, except maybe to have a larger mirror to watch yourself dance.

    Awesome.

  3. Lloyd

I really like the music cabinet. I wonder who has the other half of yours?

  4. Michele

Better be careful wearing fuzzy socks on that floor – you might fall and break your neck!

With a ballroom like that, all you’re missing is a Latin dance partner. Then, you, too, could appear on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Where are the back legs to that shoe music cabinet.

And, at last, a place for the pew.

(You’ll have to get the banquet table before Thanksgiving…they’ll be six of us, plus you and whoever else you invite. 😀 )

That does look wonderful!! Just like a model home!

But where will you put your mail, hang your coat, do your taxes???

  8. Kiwe

I think it’s beautiful. Gosh I love those floors!

Have ya’ ever wondered (homage to Andy Rooney there) why we refer to the single unit upon we walk as “floors” when, really, it’s just A floor – a single continuous flooring unit from room to room?

      No?

      OK…just me then…

…and thank for adding the Max for scale there, Brad.
