Magnificent Rest Inducer

Out of all the tests my doctor ordered when I had my physical, I’ve had the first test done. I got an MRI of my back yesterday. It’s been a long time since my last MRI. I’m guessing about ten years. I remembered being a little freaked out at being inside the tiny tube, so I was nervous yesterday.

Fortunately, the place I went to had a shorter than normal tube. The top of my head was sticking out the end, so all I had to do was roll my eyes up, and I could see daylight. This particular place also had headphones and XM Radio. She asked if I had a particular kind of music I wanted to listen to. I said classical. I had already changed into scrubs (which quite resemble pajamas), and I was already going to lie on my back for thirty minutes late in the afternoon. I might as well play some relaxing music and just go to sleep. I didn’t quite get to sleep. MRI machines are pretty loud, and the noise they make changes. If it was the same kind of loud for the whole time, I would have been asleep right away, but whenever the sound changed, it woke me up.

The next step is to call the back doctor for an appointment. Hopefully it won’t take me two weeks to get around to that.

Ready for my nap.

Heh – your title is funny.

I hope they give you some pictures or video from your MRI – that would be pretty dang cool to see!

I have pictures, but they’re the kind that you look at on a light box. I didn’t have time to figure out how to take pictures of them last night because I was busy assembling my taxes and cursing the government. Stupid government.

      Oh there’s a video.

Can’t wait to compare results! (Don’t forget to get a copy of the paper report.)

    You have a red camera????

    • Brad

Heh. It was a Black Friday sale, and it was only offered in red.

    • Lloyd

That’s his medical examination camera. It’s red to hide the blood.

      • Peggy

I thought it was red to match his jammies.

I just called for an appointment with the back doctor to look at the MRI results. Her first open appointment was May 26. Sheesh!

I almost “pulled a Royuk” (read “nodded off in a chair in a medical waiting room”) this afternoon myself. Spring must be in the – zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
