Happy Bradaptation Day! Four years ago today I wrote my first regular post. I’m celebrating by going to the doctor and having a meeting at school. Woo hoo!
Also, Happy Birthday to Michele! It’s a nice coincidence that Bradaptation day is also Michele’s birthday. It helps me remember.
Yesterday I spent a little time walking in the garden. I’ve been poisoning some bugs out there and I wanted to check on the progress of their deaths. While I was out there, I took some pictures of my lotus flowers. They have been blooming for about a month now, and there are still more flower buds coming. Awesome! I wanted to show the comparison between the two varieties of lotus I have.
This one is the unnamed variety I got at a regular garden center:
This is the Chastity lotus I got at Lily Pons:
And I’m overdue for a July garden movie. I was waiting because I thought I would clean and weed a little, but it looks like I won’t be doing that for a while, so I made a movie anyway. I keep saying “June” in the movie, but it really is July. Sheesh! Making unedited movies is hard!
I’m only halfway through the video, but I need to get ready for work. Three things: 1) Put a sticker on one of those apples so it gets a sun mark. I really want to see that! Er… please. (There, I used manners.) 2) Your hibiscus looked like it magically changed colors! (Thanks, amazing camera!) 3) Those lotus seed heads look like little elf showerhead. Very cool.
Excellent video! Happy Birthday, Michele! Happy Bradaptation Day to us all!
Awesome garden!
Happy Anniversary to Bradaptation!
Many happy returns of the day.
Ok, I’m back – watching the video play-by-play:
Ahhhhh!!! You picked up a harlequin beetle!!! *Jibblie*
“Oh, I just happen to have a bunch of delicious tomatoes.” Jerk.
I’m sorry you miss your hibiscuses when you come here. 🙁
Sorry you missed the glory of the cyprus.
What are you supposed to do inside the house? (In June.)
Sorry you missed the sea holly. I retract the jerk comment.
I see you have a sacrificial altar by the back wall.
Hey, that looks familiar.
It’s funny that you linked to that post. Just yesterday I was looking at a scar on the inside of my right arm and wondering when the heck I got that. Now I know: it was July 29, 2009.
Crap! I saw that giant hybiscus flower while I was feeding Max around July 4th. I took a peek out the kitchen window and it was the first thing that caught my eye. I even walked out back to take a look. I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture for you 🙁
