Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Autumn in May

I worked at school almost all day yesterday. There is serious grading and planning to be done here at the end of the year. I drank caffeinated coffee to help me focus. I must remember not to do that any more this year. NO MORE CAFFEINE, BRAD! The headaches and racing thoughts are not worth it.

I did have something very nice to calm me though: one of my students gave me a present here at the end of the year. It’s a set of air fresheners from Yankee Candle. And they are all Autumn scents. Smelling them makes me feel like it’s October, and I’m full of energy and optimism; Halloween is right around the corner, then Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is very invigorating. I sniffed them a lot. I might have a problem.

I put my favorite one in front so I could smell it through the box.

I’ve heard that peppermint is supposed to stimulate the brain. If you had also been eating a peppermint, your brain might have exploded!

Hey, the end is in sight, and that’s got to be exciting, yes?

Hope you are asleep as I am typing this and have absolively posalutely no more caffeine this week. Next week we may all need some to keepfocused – have you seen the meeting schedules?! Just stick a fork in my eye now and get on with it…
