Good Morning Groceries

Yesterday on my way to school I decided to stop at the grocery store for some coffee for my classroom. My coffee grounds from last May taste really bad. I think someone might be trying to poison me.

The grocery store I stopped at is a 24 hour store, so I knew it would be open. What I didn’t know is how fun it would be to stop by there at 6am. I only saw one other customer there, but the store was full of people. They were grocery store workers and food deliverers all stalking the shelves and chatting and joking with each other. It was like a party! I was a little sleepy when I went in, but I was completely awake and in a great mood by the time I came out of the store. I should stop there and get coffee every morning! But what would I do with all those coffee grounds?

A Giant party.

What if you did your weekly shopping one day at a time?
Day One: A loaf of bread
Day Two: A container of milk
Day Three: A stick of butter
    etc., etc., etc.

I hear coffee grounds make great mulch*

*I have not actually heard that.

Coffee grounds are acidic, so they would make a good mulch for evergreens, rhododendrons, and camellias. Plus, they smell good. I once got rid of some old coffee grounds by sprinkling them against my house’s foundation outside. In my mind, I imagined that they would keep bugs away. I don’t know why I would think that…

I bet you could just stop in each morning & mingle. In your teacher clothers, they’ll all just think you’re a regional manager or something. You might even start getting free stuff!
