Hotel Night

It was hotel night last night! We stayed in Lincoln at Embassy Suites. Woo hoo!

I swam in the pool with the kids for a little while, then stewed in the hot tub. ahhhh…. Embassy Suites offers a happy hour with free drinks and some snacky foods. We ordered pizza so we would have some more substantial food. It was delicious – every burny bite. Aunt Bev, Aunt Linda, and Uncle Paul joined us. I was so glad to see them!

After pizza, I joined in a game of Spades. It was fun. Mostly because I won. Going to bed was awesome. Sleeping in a hotel is always deliciously comfortable.

Food and fun.

‘Every burny bite’ -so I take it pizza is one of your trigger foods? Along with almost every other food besides milk products, right? Your poor stomach.

    1. I thought the opramozolewhateveritscalled was working – no? How sad…is it back to the all styrofoam diet then?
    2. Did the Suites have strange noises and automatically-lighted closets? Rats – and just when you were getting used to all that, too!
    3. Would you have enjoyed Spades as much had you not been the winner? I cannot seem to win at the version of Hearts on this laptop at home to save my socks. I strategize, plan ahead, try to predict the computer’s next moves……ah, therein lies the rub, I think….who can figure out technology?? (Oh…….yea……..you can…)
    4. Who had the O’Douls – Tim and Tara? (I don’t see any younguns around this table – leave ’em in the pool/hot tub, did ya’? If so, I think they’re pretty wrinkly and pruney by now…)

      1. Actually, it has worked. Now there are only certain foods that give me an acid stomach. It used to be everything.
      2. No demons and no bedbugs!
      3. As a matter of course, I don’t use words like “enjoyed” when talking about games and cards. I like them, but I never say that out loud.
      4. The kids were at another table. I think they were all drinking Shirley Temples.

        3. Yea…you don’t want to sound too gloaty and all after winning, right? *wink, wink* Maybe just “I tolerated a game of…”

What fun!! I don’t think I’ve ever had a vacation within a vacation.

And I also had some fantastic pizza this week, and of all places the hospital. Each pepperoni was perfectly crisp around the edges & there were oodles of them. I wonder if the hospital delivers?

Pray tell, what would make one go to a hospital to eat any food?! Tell me you were not a patient there…or visiting a loved one…or just desperate for a change of scenery?! (We just came from St. Joe’s tonight ourselves, visiting a member of Holy Cross – while she was admitted for an inflamed colon, she’s been off her dementia meds as a result of their treatment for her infection…it isn’t pretty. Her husband is a saint. I told Thurman he has my permission to take me out behind the shed and shoot me if I ever get like that.)

PS–On The Price is Right today, one of the big deals was a trip to guess where? Bora Bora! I’m looking up that hotel right now….I sure could use a hotel night!
