Permanent Party Plates

I’ve been hosting a Bible study every other Thursday night. The first night, I put out some pretzels and cookies and had some drinks available. The second time we met, someone else brought some cookies. The third time, four different people supplied snacks. It was a LOT of food. I was just putting out some plastic plates and napkins, but they seem kind of patchwork. I wanted to put out real plates, but the smallest plates in my particular set are nine inches across. They’re GIANT.

Yesterday I went to Arundel Mills Mall to visit the Corelle outlet. They had exactly what I was looking for: tiny plates. After a brief confusion about their price (They had changed the price tags on the plates, but not the shelf label) (They had marked them UP) (They made me pay the more expensive price) (The manager lady was cross with me) … After a brief confusion about their price, I got a stack of new plates. They look like those little plastic party plates, but they’re made of glass. I can wash and re-use. No need for constant trips to the store for more party plates! Ehhhxcelent…

My old 'small' plate is underneath. My hand is for scale.

They MADE you pay the higher price? The manager “got cross” with you?!? What kinda retail outfit is this?! [Were you wearing your “Go ahead and abuse me – I’ll fold easily” shirt again, Brad?] These behaviors are totally unacceptable in the retail world and you could bring this to, in the words of Queen Latifah, “a whole nutha leveuhl” if you so desired, you know. But…you did get some cute party plates. So. Kudos and congrats. Victory!! “Ha! Take that, evil retail establishment!!”

I adore your plates! I hope you looked the cross manager in the eye and said, “These are for a party and you’re not invited.” No, wait – I don’t really wish that. I’m sorry she was a grouch, though.

Sometime take a picture of the snacks! Mmmmmmmmmm, snacks.

Nice plates!! A warm brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream, & drizzled drenched with hot fudge would look really good on it!

And that manager lady should be reported. If a regular employee acted like that, they’d be in a heap of trouble. (I didn’t know they had a Corelle outlet in AM Mall. Dang. And I just got new dishes)
