Realtime

The DVR (digital video recorder) on my cable box isn’t working. That means I can’t record shows. That means I have to watch them in realtime. It is an impossible task, because some of the shows I watch are on at the same time. And it’s really interesting to see how much I care about TV shows. Not as much as I thought. I saw that a couple of my shows are on Hulu, so I can watch them there. The others don’t appear to be available in complete episode form, so I had to watch them last night or not at all. When 9:00pm hit, suddenly TV wasn’t as important as sleep. Sorry, 9pm shows, I won’t be watching you anymore. (Until I get a new cable box) (which will be after today sometime) (if I remember to call the cable place)

Everything that was in there is gone.

I am truly sorry for your loss. 🙁

I’ve been trying to be in bed by 9, too, and am getting a bit of a backlog on the DVR. (Don’t throw stuff at me, please.) Mad Men and House, you will just have to wait until I’m ready for you.

Glad to read that Xfinity is no more perfect than DirecTV as regards their DVR boxes. Ours occasionally seems to lock and need re-setting, and usually in the middle of recording another show (grrrr!) so you lose part of that show while it resets. I never know whether to blame that on sunspots, satelite issues, or just the fact that the box itself is so old I can’t recall how long we’ve had it and is surely outdated several times over now. Yea, having too much in the DVR bank can be a real curse – perhaps your curse is broken now and you can live like a freed prince again!

A moment of silence for your Dead Video Recorder.

And *Gasp*…. I’m actually thinking about getting rid of my DVR. It doesn’t go well with my ‘need to be done’ personality. It’s power strangles me.
