Yesterday was the last school day for the eighth graders. One of the eighth grade moms brought in a container full of chocolate covered strawberries. When I saw them, I tried to think if I’d ever had one. I don’t think I had. In stores, they seem to cost $5 each or something like that. And I usually have strawberries with cream or sugar or shortcake. And I usually have chocolate plain or with milk.
So I tried one of the chocolate covered strawberries. It was delicious! I tried a few more. Thanks, Megan’s mom!
A-HA! So THAT’s why that pan seemed to be shrinking as the day went on…
This was a first for me – only one strawberry (and SO tempting to devour the entire pan) – so thank you for making me feel even better about that self-control thing by admitting you had more than one. I was frankly amazed that the chocolate held up so well unrefrigerated all day on the lunch table there. Good thing my room is down the hall and around the corner, or I’d surely have found a way to “need” to go in the workroom throughout the day…and eventually lick the bottom of that aluminum tray.
Since this Mom is a PTL officer now, we can hope this is just the beginning of many delicious surprises. (…and we’ll be sure to mail ya’ some!!)
I enjoy chocolate covered strawberries, but they are not my favorite. It is a texture issue.
Mmmmm…. I have a couple of strawberries, and I have some chocolate. Could I just have a bite of strawberry and a bite of chocolate?
